Dr. Colin Wheeler MBChB FFPM DPM

Founder & Managing Director

Colin founded Southwood Research in 2016, after 16 years working in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in the EU and USA.

Colin’s experience covers all phases of clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and outcomes research, across a variety of therapy areas including Oncology & Haematology, Orphan Diseases, Immunology, Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular & Diabetes, Urology and Neurology.

Colin has published several papers across Oncology and Immunology in International Journals and is a fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.

Dr. Tom Oakley DPhil

Head of Regulatory Sciences

Tom Oakley joined Southwood Research in September 2016 as Head of Regulatory Sciences.

Tom has worked in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for 15 years, with extensive experience in delivering EU regulatory affairs projects for oncology products.

He has worked on regulatory activities for products in Phase I-III of the drug development process, through to filing and post-marketing. In particular, he has extensive experience of EU orphan and paediatric requirements.

Tom has a PhD from Oxford University, and is a member of TOPRA.
